More About Dr. Nicole Beachum

 

Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration – Marketing

Over 15 Years of Digital Marketing Experience

Over the years, Nicole got her start in 2008 doing freelance writing and search engine optimization (SEO) – before it was even had an official name. 

She then created her own digital marketing agency, which merged to form another, larger agency after 1.5 years. For the next 5 years, she was the managing partner of the agency growing it to over 20 full-time employees and more than 100 clients over a variety of B2B and B2C organizations as well as nonprofits. 

She left the agency to complete her Ph.D and to become an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). 

University-Level Educator and Speaker

Nicole has been speaking on digital marketing on the local, regional and national levels since 2010 in a variety of topics around marketing. She has also done workshops and talks about self-compassion, empathy, and leading through vulnerability and authenticity. 

In the university setting, Nicole began teaching in 2016 and moved into the role full-time in 2019. She created the digital marketing concentration during her tenure at UAB. 

Over the years, she’s continued to consult, speak, and teach independently in addition to her role at the university.
